Bond Business Faces Allegations of Solicitation

Rancho Cucamonga, California — Bail Hotline Bail Bonds is accused of soliciting business, violating bail bond industry regulations in the state. Sheriff’s detectives and the Department of Insurance investigators served a search warrant on the bail bond business following an investigation. The company is accused of using inmates to solicit other inmates in prison and using agents to solicit inmates. Ardmore, Oklahoma – Bondsman Louis Perry and his wife Ramona were arrested this month, accused of trying to bribe Carter County District Attorney Craig Ladd. 3000 Defendants Released Without Bail Bonds

Pinellas, Florida – According to a new report in Florida, since November 2009, over 3,000 defendants have been released on recognizance in Pinellas County. Even those who have been charged with serious crimes such as battery and drug possession have been released this way – with no bail. Shreveport, Louisiana – Bondsman Grayson Bailey has been arrested following a Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Unit investigation. Bailey faces numerous drug and weapons charges after authorities found firearms and prescription drugs in his car. Bailey did not have a prescription for any of the drugs he was carrying. Seattle, Washington – Colton Harris-Moore, also known as the “Barefoot Bandit,” went on an extended crime spree of theft and break-ins, eluding authorities and bondsmen. He has now been arrested in the Bahamas after a short high-speed boat chase. Harris-Moore will face criminal charges in the Bahamas and will likely be extradited to the US to face additional charges there.
