Illinois County Trying to Recover Forfeited Bail Money

Kane County, Illinois (a state without private bail) is trying to recoup about $380,000 in bond money forfeitted by people who were arrested on traffic offenses then failed to appear in court.  John Barsanti, Kane County’s state’s attorney general, admitted last week that there was no reason they hadn’t been actively trying to collect these debts in the past.
