NYC Bondsman Forged Documents

Juan Villar, a New York City bail agent, has admitted to forging documents for over 50 defendants.  In 2003 and 2004, Villar misrepresented the collateral that defendants had offered for bail.  58 defendants that he falsified collateral for failed to appear for their court dates, costing Villar’s surety almost a million dollars.

Villar will be sentenced in July.
