LOS ANGELES, CA –Bondsman David Perez has the unenviable task of being actress Lindsay Lohan’s bondsman. Perez has stated that he was contacted by Shawn Chapman Holley, Lohan’s attorney, to attend a recent courthouse hearing after Lohan’s ankle monitoring device registered five probation violations. Judge Marcia Revel has since issued a warrant for the actress’s arrest and has increased bail from $100, 000 to $200,000. SAN CLEMENTE, CA – A bondsman captured and turned in former NASCAR driver James Edward Neal, securing a second arrest for Neal is the past week. Neal was recently bailed out of jail on false imprisonment and attempted rape charges and was recently sentenced for a high-speed chase with police. Sheriff Race Gets Controversial

SACRAMENTO, CA – In the race for Sacramento County sheriff, a number of accusations have been made lately. Current Sheriff John McGinness is supporting Scott Jones in the race but critics are claiming that Jones may have used government computers for bail bondsmen friends who needed criminal history checks. Bail Bond Lawsuit Dismissed

SANTA BARBARA, CA – Judge Thomas Anderle has dismissed a lawsuit alleging that Sheriff Bill Brown hurt bail agencies. The lawsuit was brought about by a bondsman and alleged that Brown and others prevented inmates from making free calls to bail bond businesses, thereby depriving those companies of business. Bounty Hunter and Sherriff in Hot Water Over Fourth Amendment Rights

BAKERSFIELD, CA – A California woman named Star Hills alleges that bounty hunters and sheriffs entered her home without permission and she has the home-security footage and camcorder footage to prove it. Hills alleges that the situation violates her Fourth Amendment rights and would like to see the men who entered her home reprimanded. LOS ANGELES, CA - After resisting arrest early Thursday morning at his home in Los Angeles, Cameron Reagan, grandson of former President Ronald Reagan, was held on a $10,000 bail. Upon entering his home with friends, Reagan accidentally tripped his silent security alarm which alerted the police without his awareness. DNA Test in Exchange for Dropped Case

Orange County, California is certainly taking a creative approach to those arrested for nonviolent misdemeanors: a $75 fee and DNA sample, in exchange for their case being dropped. District Attorney Tony Rackauckas says extending the option to give a DNA sample for those who have yet to plea one way or the other will help with the cost of testing DNA. Man Granted Bail After 26 Years of Imprisonment

Bruce Lisker had already served 26 years of a life sentence for beating and stabbing his mother in March of 1983 when he heard what was probably the best news of his life. U.S. District Judge Virginia Phillips overturned the conviction last week and has since ruled that Lisker is eligible for bail. Fugitive Shot by Bounty Hunter in CA

A man wanted for skipping bail related to a DUI arrest was shot and wounded by one of three recovery agents trying to capture him. When the agents went to recapture the suspect, a fight broke out. During the fight, the suspect allegedly grabbed an agent’s gun, causing another agent to fire on the suspect. The suspect was shot in the leg during the ordeal and is currently in stable condition.
